Andrei Serban, a former product lead at Rippling, identified a major inefficiency in IT support during his tenure there. After joining Rippling through its acquisition of his coding security startup, Fuzzbuzz, in 2023, he became acutely aware of the manual tasks burdening help desk teams, such as password resets and access requests. To address this, Serban founded Console, a startup dedicated to automating these repetitive tasks with AI, thereby allowing IT staff to focus on more strategic projects.

Console distinguishes itself from competitors like Moveworks by offering seamless integration with Slack, enabling quick deployment without the need for extensive setup processes. This rapid integration allows companies to utilize the AI assistant within weeks rather than months, creating an accessible support tool for all employees.

The Console AI assistant is designed to understand user specifics, such as device type and permissions, and can autonomously handle over 50% of requests. In cases of more complex issues, it can escalate to human IT support, enhancing the help desk’s efficiency.

The company’s rapid integration has already attracted notable clients, including Scale AI, Flock Safety, and Calendly, leading to $6.2 million in seed funding from Thrive Capital. Vince Hankes of Thrive expressed confidence in Console’s potential, citing a strong belief in AI’s capacity to augment IT functions. Console aims to eventually extend its capabilities to address inquiries related to HR, finance, and legal matters, positioning itself as a first-resource tool for employee assistance.
