Meta’s Latest Shake-Up: A New Era for Its AI Organization

Meta is once again restructuring its AI organization, moving swiftly to stay competitive against other major players in the field. Initially reported by The Information, the change has culminated in an internal memo confirming the reorganization into four new groups, as per reports from Bloomberg and The New York Times.

The newly created Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL) will be helmed by Alexandr Wang, who was named chief AI officer in June. The MSL will focus on foundation models, particularly the Llama series, with the new group designated as TBD Labs. Additionally, three other groups will concentrate on research, product integration, and infrastructure, respectively.
