Nvidia Reports Record $57B Revenue: How an Upbeat Forecast Calms AI Bubble Concerns
Nvidia recently reported an impressive $57 billion in revenue for the third quarter of 2025, representing a 62% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth surpassed Wall Street expectations, with net income on a GAAP basis reaching $32 billion, a 65% year-over-year increase. The surge in revenue was largely driven by Nvidia’s data center business, which generated a record $51.2 billion—up 25% from the previous quarter and 66% year-over-year.
The company’s gaming division also contributed, bringing in $4.2 billion, alongside sales from professional visualization and automotive sectors amounting to $1.6 billion. Nvidia’s CFO Colette Kress attributed the robust demand in the data center sector to the rise of powerful AI models and substantial infrastructure projects, which have already resulted in the announcement of 5 million GPUs for AI factories.
During a recent earnings call, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang highlighted the strong performance of their Blackwell GPU, stating it has become the company’s top-performing product while noting that cloud GPUs are currently sold out. He emphasized the accelerating demand for computing power, suggesting that the AI ecosystem is rapidly expanding across diverse markets and countries.
However, the company did face challenges, particularly with its H20 GPU shipments intended for generative AI, which totaled just 50 million. The slow sales were partly attributed to geopolitical factors affecting sales to China, where competition is fierce. Despite these setbacks, Nvidia projects a growth trajectory, forecasting $65 billion in revenue for the upcoming quarter, which has positively impacted its stock price.
Huang dismissed talks of an AI bubble, asserting that the continuous growth and expansion of the industry is indicative of a thriving market rather than a fleeting trend. He expressed confidence in Nvidia’s future in a rapidly evolving landscape where AI is becoming ubiquitous in varied sectors.
