Amazon is contemplating increasing its investment in Anthropic, a significant competitor to OpenAI. According to a report from The Information, Amazon is engaged in discussions for a multi-billion dollar investment in Anthropic, marking its first financial commitment to the company since a $4 billion deal completed last year.

The structure of the new investment mirrors the previous one but comes with a particular condition: Anthropic is expected to utilize Amazon-developed silicon hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for training its AI models.
