CloudNC’s Vision: Accelerating AI-Driven Supply Chain Machining

CloudNC has raised $20 million to enhance its AI-driven precision machining technology in global supply chains. The funding round, led by Nimble Ventures and supported by Calculus Venture Capital, Entrepreneur First, and Lockheed Martin’s LM Ventures, will allow CloudNC to scale its operations.

Founded in 2015 and based in London, CloudNC aims to address the challenges faced by precision component suppliers, who often struggle with tight engineering tolerances under tight delivery schedules. Their main software, CAM Assist, automates computer numerical control (CNC) programming, streamlining the transition from design to production. This software is currently operational in over 1,000 machine shops worldwide, including pivotal users like Lockheed Martin.

Theo Saville, CEO and co-founder, emphasized the mounting pressure on machine shops to improve quotation and programming speed. With automation, CloudNC’s offerings aim to facilitate this process significantly. Nimble Ventures founder John Burbank highlighted that efficient CNC workflows could bolster reshoring efforts in manufacturing.

Additionally, the funding will help CloudNC with its technical support infrastructure and market growth. They are also gearing up to launch Quote Agent, an AI tool designed to expedite the quoting process for new jobs, which represents a critical bottleneck for manufacturing suppliers.

CloudNC is also collaborating with Knox Systems to secure FedRAMP certification for CAM Assist, enabling its application within US government and defense sectors. This certification would allow for the integration of automated machining solutions in regulated environments.
