IBM and Tech Mahindra Launch New Phase of Trustworthy AI with WatsonX

Tech Mahindra, a global provider of technology consulting and digital solutions, has collaborated with IBM to help organisations sustainably accelerate generative AI use worldwide.
This collaboration combines Tech Mahindra’s range of AI offerings, TechM amplifAI0->∞, and IBM’s watsonx AI and data platform with AI Assistants.
Customers can now combine IBM watsonx’s capabilities with Tech Mahindra’s AI consulting and engineering skills to access a variety of new generative AI services, frameworks, and solution architectures. This enables the development of AI apps in which organisations can use their trusted data to automate processes. It also provides a basis for businesses to create trustworthy AI models, promotes explainability to help manage risk and bias, and enables scalable AI adoption across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
As Kunal Purohit, the chief digital services officer at Tech Mahindra, points out, organisations are emphasising responsible AI practices and the inclusion of generative AI technologies to revitalise enterprises.
He expressed that their collaboration with IBM will thrust forward the digital transformation for organisations, adoption of GenAI, modernisation, and consequently stimulate business growth for their global customers.
For intensifying business competencies in AI, Tech Mahindra has inaugurated a virtual watsonx Centre of Excellence (CoE), which is now functional. The CoE acts as a hub for co-innovation with a devoted team assigned with optimising the mutual benefits between both companies and generating distinctive offerings and solutions based on their merged capabilities.
The offerings and solutions arising from this alliance could assist enterprises in achieving their objectives of building machine learning models using open-source frameworks, and at the same time, enable them to scale up and amplify the influence of generative AI. These AI-powered solutions could potentially help organisations boost efficiency and productivity responsibly.
Kate Woolley, GM of IBM Ecosystem, expressed the immense potential of their partnership with Tech Mahindra, highlighting the role of generative AI as a springboard for innovation. With a strong base of transparency, explainability and trust, this AI could potentially lead to unlocking new market possibilities.
In her words:”Our work with Tech Mahindra is expected to broaden the reach of Watsonx making it more accessible to more customers. This expansion is focused on building trustworthy AI by merging our technology and expertise to support business use cases including code modernisation, digital labour, and customer service.”
This alignment is consistent with Tech Mahindra’s ongoing efforts to transform businesses with superior AI-led solutions. Notable recent additions include Vision amplifAIer, Ops amplifAIer, Email amplifAIer, Enterprise Knowledge Search offering, Evangelize Pair Programming, and Generative AI Studio.
It’s noteworthy to mention that this isn’t the first time the two companies have partnered. Earlier this year, Tech Mahindra announced the opening of a Synergy Lounge in partnership with IBM at their Singapore campus. The aim of this lounge is to catalyse digital transformation among APAC organizations by helping them operationalize and leverage emergent technologies such as AI, hybrid cloud, intelligent automation, 5G, edge computing, and cybersecurity.
Beyond Tech Mahindra, IBM watsonx has been involved in additional partnerships to expedite the installment of generative AI. Earlier this year, a new collaboration between GSMA and IBM was launched aimed at leveraging generative AI in the telecommunications sector via the introduction of GSMA Advance’s AI Training program and the GSMA Foundry Generative AI program.
There’s also a digital version of the program which covers the business strategy and technological basics of generative AI. The program utilizes IBM watsonx to offer hands-on training for architects and developers who are interested in acquiring practical generative AI skills.
