Dell is deeply embedded in the AI landscape, leveraging a comprehensive four-pillar strategy to integrate the technology across its products and services.
Nicholas Brackney, Senior Consultant in Product Marketing at Dell, discussed the company’s AI initiatives ahead of AI & Big Data Expo North America.
Dell’s AI strategy is structured around four core principles: AI-In, AI-On, AI-For, and AI-With:
Dell is uniquely prepared to guide clients through AI projects, stressing flexibility and choice across the multiple phases of budding technology. Brackney underscored Dell’s dedication to assisting customers from the initial stages of AI integration to the attainment of large-scale AI.
“Our commitment has always been geared towards offering choice and we have been doing so across the multiple cycles of upcoming technology, inclusive of AI, while cognizant of the associated challenges,” Brackney detailed. “We wholly harness our distinctive operating model to aid customers from the preliminary stages of AI up to a future where large-scale AI is the norm.”
Looking forward, Dell is especially enthusiastic about the prospects of AI PCs.
“We acknowledge that organizations and their information workers are enthusiastic about AI, and they are keen on incorporating it into all their workflows,” said Brackney. Dell’s focus is on the amalgamation of AI into software and ensuring it operates effectively on the appropriate systems, enhancing customer experiences with AI from start to finish.
Consideration of ethical matters in AI launch are deemed critical by Dell. In relation to concerns like deepfakes, transparency, and biasedness, Brackney elaborates on the significance of adopting a collective, safe, and long-lasting process for AI creation.
“We endorse a collective, secure and sustainable method. By setting perfect foundations, we can eliminate some of the biggest threats associated with AI, and ensure that it serves as a positive force,” Brackney clarifies.
AI-powered product user’s data privacy is another imperative aspect of focus. Dell’s blueprint of incorporating AI with current security investments devoid of new risk introduction was highlighted by Brackney. Dell provides an array of secure products, extensive data protection, advanced cybersecurity functionalities, and worldwide support amenities to guarantee user data safety.
In reference to job removal due to AI, Brackney emphasized that Dell perceives AI as an extension to human capability rather than a substitute for it.
“The roles may change but the human element will always be key,” Brackney stated. “At Dell, we encourage our team members to understand, explore, and, where appropriate, use tools based on AI to learn, evolve, and enhance the overall work experience.”
Looking ahead, Brackney envisions a transformative role for AI within Dell and the tech industry. “We see customers in every industry wanting to become leaders in AI because it is critical to their organisation’s innovation, growth, and productivity,” he noted.
Dell aims to support this evolution by providing the necessary architectures, frameworks, and services to assist its customers on this transformative journey.
