Blaho’s findings suggest that the ChatGPT macOS client contains hidden functions related to Operator, such as shortcuts for "Toggle Operator" and "Force Quit Operator". Additionally, references to Operator can be found on OpenAI’s website, although they are not publicly visible yet.
Blaho’s investigation revealed comparisons between Operator and other AI systems. The leaked data indicates that while Operator performs well in certain conditions, it may not achieve 100% reliability across varied tasks. For instance, the tool reportedly succeeded in signing up for a cloud provider only 60% of the time and had a mere 10% success rate when tasked with creating a Bitcoin wallet.
As OpenAI prepares to enter the AI agent market, competitors like Anthropic and Google are also innovating within this space. Although AI agents promise exciting possibilities, concerns over safety and efficacy remain, as demonstrated by leaked performance benchmarks for Operator.
