Eightfold Co-Founders Secure $35M for Viven: An AI Digital Twin Solution for Accessing Unavailable Coworkers

Ashutosh Garg and Varun Kacholia, co-founders of Eightfold, an AI recruiting startup, have launched a new company called Viven, designed to tackle the issue of team communication effectively. Employees often face delays when they need information from colleagues who are unavailable due to vacations or differing time zones. To address this, they have raised $35 million in seed funding from notable investors including Khosla Ventures and Foundation Capital.

Viven aims to create a digital twin for each employee by utilizing a customized language model (LLM) that accesses their internal documents such as emails, Slack messages, and Google Docs. This allows other team members to query these digital twins, obtaining necessary information swiftly, even when a colleague is not physically available.

Garg emphasizes the innovation in Viven’s technology, stating, "When each and every person has a digital twin, you can just talk to their twin as if you’re talking to that person and get the response." The technology incorporates mechanisms to ensure privacy and security, employing a method known as pairwise context and privacy. This allows the LLMs to discern what information can be shared and with whom, ensuring sensitive data remains protected.

As Viven gains traction, it has already begun working with several enterprise clients, including Genpact and Eightfold itself. While Garg notes that they currently face no direct competition, he acknowledges the potential future market entry from major firms like Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI, all of which have personalization in their products. Viven aspires to leverage its unique pairing technology as a competitive advantage.
